On the 21st of July, 2020, a global fundraising and resource-generation campaign have been set to provide technical assistance for the UP students that had engaged in online learning. Thus, President Danilo L. Concepcion, of the University of the Philippines had led and launched the campaign “Kaagapay sa Pag-aaral ng mga Iskolar ng Bayan”.

Consequently, 4,000 UP enrollees are financially vulnerable, unable to fully support these needs due to the ravages of the COVID-19 pandemic reducing the incomes the UP student’s families make. moreover, there are around or more than 1,600 UP enrollees who are financially challenged and have no resources at all for computer and internet access. And lastly, the 5,600 UP students require immediate assistance from UP Alumni. That is to say, approximately 60,000 enrollees in the UP System, are still a great percentage of the UP enrollees that have to experience difficulty attending.

In which, donors may give financial support that ranges from the least amount of PHP 100.00 (US$ 2.0) to as much as PHP 110,00.00 (US$ 2,200.00) that can support four-year support for one student until graduation.

A Jubilarian theme has been adopted for the year which is the: “Bagong Paglingap – Ngayon at sa Hinaharap” (“A New Kind of Caring – Now and in the Days to Come”). This is what the UPAA President and the Alumni Regent Reynaldo C. Laserna have proposed, despite having indefinitely postponed the 2020 UP General Alumni Homecoming due to COVID-19. Support to their utmost capabilities was assured by the UP Alumni for the fundraising of the Mga Iskolar ng Bayan’s assistance.
